Our Patron, Saint Luke
Saint Luke was the first Christian physician and is venerated by the Church as patron of physicians and surgeons. He is the author of the Third Gospel and the Acts of the Apostles and was born in Antioch. His writings were inspired by his close association with the Apostle Paul and in fact, it is believed that he is the ‘beloved physician’ from Paul’s letter to the Colossians.
